KANGO KIDS OF UGANDA FOUNDATION

GBV Reduction Program

Eradicating gender-based violence by providing safe refuge, driving legal accountability, and transforming cultural norms from within.

The Challenge

A Silent Epidemic

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) remains one of the most pervasive, yet underreported human rights violations in rural Uganda. Cultural norms, fear of retribution, and economic dependency often force survivors to remain in life-threatening domestic situations.

Without a safe place to go, clear legal recourse, or community support, the cycle of violence continues unbroken. It devastates the mental and physical health of women and deeply traumatizes the children who witness it, severely hindering community development.
